Microwave Caramel Corn

10 cups popped popcorn
1/2 cup peanuts (optional)
1 stick butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 large brown paper bags

Put one bag inside the other to have a double bag.

Pour popped popcorn and peanuts into the bag.

In microwave melt butter in a medium size glass bowl. Remove and add brown sugar, stir to mix.

Microwave for 1 minute. Remove and stir.

Microwave for 1 more minute. Remove and stir in baking soda, stirring quickly until foamy. Pour mixture over the popped popcorn in the bag. Roll down the bag to close.

Microwave for 1½ minutes. Remove and shake the bag to roll popcorn around to coat.

Return the bag to the microwave for another 1½ minutes. Remove and shake again to get final coat.

Pour into large container and enjoy.
